Seven people were injured in a shooting outside of a bar in Turlock early Saturday morning, police said. Authorities are now searching for the gunman. An officer in the downtown area heard gunshots around 2 a.m., the Turlock Police Department said in a release. Police received several calls of a shooting and reports of several people being shot outside La Cantina.The shooting happened as people were leaving the bar, police said. There was a fight inside the bar earlier in the evening, which investigators say may be connected. Police do not believe the shooting was a random act of violence. “Evidence located at the scene suggests the shooter targeted one individual within the crowd and without regard for the others fired also hitting six bystanders,” police said. Officers found multiple gunshot victims. Seven people were taken to the hospital and suffered non-life-threatening injuries, according to authorities. It is unclear if those that were injured are still in the hospital. Police did not release the identities of the victims. Detectives are now working to identify the gunman, according to the release.”We are early on in this investigation, but Detectives are working diligently to identify the shooter,” special operations Lt. Neil Cervenka said.The suspected shooter is described as a heavy-set Hispanic man between age 25 and 30 who drives a white Mercedes Benz sedan. “Video of the incident shows his hairstyle was unique in that the sides of his head appeared to be shaved and he had what appeared to be a short ponytail,” police said.
