Celebrated singer Lata Mangeshkar’s health has deteriorated. She is on ventilator and doctors are closely observing her health. Dr Pratit Samdani updated ANI, “Lata Mangeshkar’s health condition has deteriorated again, she is critical. She is on a ventilator. She is still in ICU and will remain under the observation of doctors.”

She was admitted to a city hospital in early January, after she tested positive for Covid-19 and was also diagnosed with pneumonia. Lata Mangeshkar had mild symptoms and was admitted to the ICU. While the singer stayed in ICU, she showed slight signs of improvement around January 28 and was taken off the ventilator too.

Soon after Lata Mangeshkar was hospitalised, ETimes had reached out to her sister Asha Bhosle, who had shared that she is closely following the health bulletins issued by the hospital every day. Asha Bhosle had said, “They aren’t allowing anybody. I went once but wasn’t allowed inside the compound itself. There are severe restrictions and protocols being followed in view of the ongoing pandemic.” While another family member had informed ETimes, “Lata didi is doing much better and since she is a singer, you know how they have a huge lung capacity. Above all, she is a fighter but we cannot say when she will be discharged as COVID protocols need to be followed.”
